Cliffe Dolbeare
CDT Cliffe Dolbeare
MS IV

Cadet Dolbeare is pursuing a degree in Agriculture Education-Communications. He is a native of west central Illinois, hailing from Pleasant Hill. In his second year in the program, CDT Dolbeare finds himself involved a number of activities. Outside of the ROTC, CDT Dolbeare stays active with various ISU clubs including the Agricultural Communicators of Tomorrow, Rotaract, and Collegiate FFA.

Within the program he especially enjoys Ranger Challenge, and is currently serving as the Captain of the Gold Team. He has served in various leadership positions within the battalion from Company Commander to Squad Leader. When asked about the ISU ROTC, CDT Dolbeare said the following.

“There is no aspect of the program that I do not enjoy. From our PT to being on the Ranger Challenge team to being able to lead and instruct the younger cadets, I love it all! Don’t get me wrong, it is not all easy. But I know the challenges will only make me better and more able to serve my soldiers when I become an officer in the U.S. Army. And my service in the Army can only prepare me for what lies ahead of me in my civilian life.”

Ashley Blau
CDT Ashley Blau
MS IV

Cadet Blau is pursuing a major in Health and Human Performance. She grew up in various parts of the United States, but attended high school at Haines City High School in Haines City, Florida. She has held various positions in the Battalion ranging from Squad Leader to Company Commander.

"ROTC has become a huge part of my life and has made a positive impact on who I am. It has given me the opportunity to learn from people that have helped me grow as a person and has influenced my goals in life. I have made lasting friendships and now have a sense of pride that I am part of something with so much history and accomplishment. Outside of the program I enjoy playing volleyball and softball, camping, and most anything outdoors. ISU Army ROTC has helped me focus on the priorities in my life and realize what is most important to obtaining my future goals. I will become an officer in the United States Army and have the support and encouragement of my peers and cadre to help me get there. I would like to branch Medical Service Corps and hope to be active duty. I plan to make the Army my career for at least 20 years. I know that everything I learn in the Army will help me not only in the military aspects of my life, but the civilian side as well.”
