Iowa State’s A and B team complete all events and continue the Cyclone Battalion’s tradition of excellence

Iowa State’s Ranger Challenge (RC) teams continued the tradition of dominance at the annual Ranger Challenge competition. RC cadets endured six weeks of grueling training, pushing them physically and mentally. Once at competition RC cadets pushed themselves beyond what they though their limits were for their team and for the pride of Cyclone Battalion. Ranger Challenge is a great opportunity for cadets to develop themselves on an individual and team level. The bond developed between RC cadets breaks class barriers, creating a great informal mentoring system.

ISU Army ROTC cadets arrived at Camp Dodge on Friday 07OCT2011 in order to compete in the 2011 Ranger Challenge event. Cadets competed in various events to include BRM, Orienteering, the APFT, and a Ruck march. Iowa State won three of the six events and received streamers for each. Iowa State also took the overall first place trophy. CDT Schilling from Iowa State received am award for highest APFT. This years win was an excellent display of the hard work and effort that was put in by Iowa State Cadets during training.
